Event Listings in Oregon

Photography at Oregon’s 47th Annual Exhibit and Auction is nearly upon us! We’ve already received an impressive collection of print donations from noted photographers locally and nationally. So far, contributions include prints from artists such as Christopher Burkett, Christopher Landis, Ken Hawkins and Brian Lanker, as well as outstanding works from many exceptional local and regional artists, such as Michael Z. Taylor, Barbora Bakalarova, Sarah Grew, Walt O’Brien, and Doremus Scudder, just to name a very few.

As in years past, there will be three Auction Exhibits featuring prints from the Online Auction at Dot Dotson's Gallery in Eugene, one each in May, June and July. This year, the online auction and the three exhibits will run concurrently. You can view a select number of photographs at Dot Dotson's each month and view and bid on the entire selection of over 85 photographs online at auctria.events/PAO2025.

The first installment of the PAO Auction Exhibit opens Friday, May 2nd
at Dot Dotson’s Gallery, 1668 Willamette St. Eugene, OR 97401

There will be an Opening Reception from 5-6 p.m., complete with wine and hors d’oeuvres. We hope to see you there.

The exhibit will run all of May, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. till 1:00 p.m.

The Online Auction itself will be open for bids starting May 1st and continuing through July 31st. The entire selection of photographs will be online.

We are looking forward to an active turnout for the 2025 Auction! Remember, that all auction proceeds go toward promoting and sponsoring photography exhibits and events by PAO, as they have for the past 45 years. Our success is directly due to the generosity of many fine photographers donating work, giving back to the medium we all love, as well as the generosity and commitment of our bidders.

Our Summer Celebration is hitting all Oakshire taprooms on June 20 and 21 ☀️ We're bringing the heat with the release of Gnome Down Under New Zealand IPA, a juicy, floral, and tropical hop bomb you won't want to miss. Throw on your favorite tropical shirt and join us for themed music, delicious brews, and amazing food specials and collaborations.

POWER PLAY FOR THE PLANET

Saving planet Earth together can be loads of fun! Join us to play games, solve puzzles, and tackle wacky challenges. The whole family will enjoy exploring the environment, designing solutions, and imagining a brighter future. Let’s do this! The Power Play for the Planet program is targeted for a family audience with elementary age children and is presented by a museum educator. The program includes a short and lively presentation (20-25 minutes) followed by activity tables offering a variety of fun, hands-on activities.

Masquerade Farm Ball & Dinner | Summer Solstice 2025 (Ages 21+)

Friday, June 20 | 5:00–10:00 PM | Parker Learning Gardens, Eugene, OR

Step into a midsummer night’s dream under the hazelnut trees for our 2nd Annual Masquerade Farm Ball & Dinner. Your ticket includes:

Admission to the full evening event (5–10 p.m.)
A gourmet 5-course locally sourced meal by Chef Lino’s, featuring a special collaborative dish with Chef Derek Osborne of Mimosas, and seasonal produce from Camas Swale Farm and Parker Learning Gardens. Alternative menu accommodations are available.
Dinner is served from 6 to 8 p.m. at our signature long community table set in the hazelnut grove, with the cob oven and chefs at one end, and live dinner music by Two’s Company at the other end.
Evening show by The Barn Stormers at the Filbert Grove Stage from 8:30 to 10 p.m with old-time farm tunes, dancing, and good cheer.
One complimentary raffle ticket for a chance to win prizes donated by local businesses. More tickets will be available for purchase at the event.

(Each event ticket includes one complimentary raffle entry, with more raffle tickets available for purchase here or at the event.)

Dress Code:
This is a masquerade! Formal or farm-fancy attire is required—think linen dresses, boots with flair, bow ties in the orchard. Whatever makes you feel fancy. Gourd masks are required to enter the event (and admired but do not need to be worn the whole time.)

Join us at Laurel Grove Cemetery for an evening of food, drinks, and local history! In collaboration with the Laurel Grove Cemetery Board, we will be celebrating the Grove's 170 years as a community cemetery, and learning the stories of its residents.

From early pioneers to politicians to baseball players and beyond, this all-ages free event will have something for everyone!
Live music with ghost stories, tales of love and loss, truths and dreams at the crossroads of traditional Mexican and contemporary styles will fill the air with popular local ghostly folk band, Llorona!

Please dress for the weather (whatever it may be), and wear sturdy shoes. We will be offering refreshments as well.

FREE and All ages. Come enjoy 60's-70's folk-rock favorites at Claim 52's NEW LOCATION! Craft beers, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages alongside very delicious food from Seasoned. Acoustic folk- rock band Sassafras! plays a wide variety of 60’s ~ 70's rock & folk, with a pinch of Celtic and originals. They enjoy creating acoustic playfulness with vocal harmonies, humorous ditties, and heart-felt ballads with songs by greats like John Prine, America, Linda Ronstadt, CCR, Johnny Cash, and The Beatles. Sassafras! is Virgil Cater- percussion/vocals, Kamden Flowers-vocals, & Brent Hample-guitar /vocals.

The 39 Steps is a fast-paced comedic play adapted by Patrick Barlow from the 1935 Alfred Hitchcock film, which in turn was based on John Buchan’s 1915 novel. This stage version is both a thriller and a parody, filled with clever theatricality and rapid-fire costume changes. The story follows Richard Hannay, an ordinary man in 1930s London who becomes embroiled in a spy mystery after a woman claiming to be a secret agent is murdered in his apartment. On the run and wrongly accused, he must clear his name, unravel the mystery of "The 39 Steps," and prevent a national security disaster.

Pegasus Playhouse Presents Starkid’s The Trail To Oregon!
Based on the video game The Oregon Trail and originally produced by Team StarKid, The Trail to Oregon! is a comedy musical about a family in the 1800s in Missouri that decide to pack up all their things and trek across the country to find a better life in Oregon. Along the way, they run into problems like... Hunger! Dysentery! The Bandit King! The group must learn how to survive as a family (but spoiler alert: one of them may or may not die).
The show, while wild and funny, does feature adult language, and some adult situations, so parents are encouraged to use discretion before bringing their children.

The cast includes Christopher Ridgley as the Father, Elena Morris as the Mother, Mila Dahl as the Daughter, Levi Stewart as the Son, Spoon Meiners as the Grandpa, and Colin Schmidt as the “Bandit King” McDoon and various townspeople.

The Trail to Oregon ! will be on the Pegasus Playhouse stage for three weekends, June 13-29.
Friday and Saturday showings will begin at 7 p.m. and Sunday showings will begin at 6 p.m.

Cottage Theatre is pleased to present the Oregon premiere of Nevermore: The Imaginary Life and Mysterious Death of Edgar Allan Poe, written and composed by Jonathan Christenson.

Nevermore runs from June 6 - 22, 2025, at Cottage Theatre, 700 Village Drive in Cottage Grove.

The grim world of Edgar Allan Poe is scrutinized in this macabre musical inspired by his gothic poetry and prose. This surreal piece weaves together original music and dramatic storytelling to unravel the tortured life and untimely death of the legendary writer. Charting a course through Poe's earliest memories, this show navigates themes of loss, addiction, and abandonment through poignant melodies and stunning visual imagery. As Poe's troubled past and masterful creations intertwine, you will be transported to a mesmerizing place where reality and imagination collide. An Oregon premiere, Cottage Theatre’s Nevermore will take you on a gripping ride through “fantastic terrors never felt before.”

Nevermore is directed and designed by Kory Weimer, assisted by Naomi Castro as Assistant Director and Vocal Director. Ashley Lawn serves as Stage Manager. The musical features Marc Siegel, Dylan Bunten, Cam Tunnell, Alana Merz, Laurel Merz, and Moura Stewart as Players, with Kory Weimer as Edgar Allan Poe. A trio of puppeteers (Cayla Gaddis, John Young, and Ylectra Young) rounds out the ensemble. Costume design is by Chris Carter, lighting design by Amanda Ferguson, and makeup design by Holland Holub.

Nevermore is on stage for three weekends at Cottage Theatre from June 6 - 22. Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 pm, and Sunday afternoons at 2:30 pm.
